17 Veterans of the D-Day Normandy landings were honoured today in Thiepval Barracks, Lisburn by France’s Honorary Consul in Northern Ireland, Regine McCullough at an official ceremony they were awarded France’s highest order – the Legion D’ Honneur.

Country Music and Showbands Legend Gene Stewart was laid to rest in Kileeshil, County Tyrone. His funeral was attended by over 300 people from family and friends to Irish celebrities.
